A cake smash & splash photoshoot is a great and exciting way to celebrate your baby’s first year! We always have lots of fun during these birthday sessions, kids love all the fancy decorations, the balloons, and all the fun and mess that it is to smash your own cake for the very first time!

A cake smash photoshoot includes a deluxe custom-made birthday cake, helium decorations, banners, balloons, and outfits. If you'd like to supply your own cake please let me know and I will deduct £35.

This session is in four parts:

-Pre-smash photos of your baby with all the pretty decorations, balloons, number ONE, garlands, etc.

-Cake Smash. This is a fantastic sensory experience where babies get to smash their birthday cake and eat it too. This always brings lots of fun and entertainment.

-Bubble bath photos, not only give us the cutest photos of your little one, it makes sure you walk in and out of my studio with a clean baby.

-We conclude the session with a family photo and some portrait photos of your baby without any decorations.

All my birthday photoshoots include ONE family photo (as part of your 20) to make some extra family memories!.

I highly recommend booking your cake smash session at least 4-6 weeks in advance, so we have enough time to plan your set. Pease note I do not offer themed cake smashes.

A £50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable before the day of your session. Your booking will only be confirmed once the deposit is received

Booking your session

Milestone cake smashes & splashes sessions, are some of the most fun photos to shoot not only for me but you and your little one, too.

A £50 booking deposit must be paid upon booking to secure your place in my diary. I can not reserve any date otherwise. This is non-refundable but transferable to another date or collection. This is included in your collection price and will be deducted from the final payment. The outstanding balance £275 must be paid 24 hours before the day of the session. Your booking is completed only after the online contract agreement is signed and a deposit is made.

*Please tell me about any allergies or food intolerances at the time of booking a Cake Smash. In the event that a child does have any allergies or food intolerances that may be relevant to the cake, I ask parents to provide the cake and I deduct £35 of the total cost.

Session day

During the session relax and have fun! Make sure your baby is fed (but not overly fed) and get a good nap before the session.
Don’t assume they will dive right in. All parents hope that their little one will dive in and make a mess of the cake, that’s what you are paying for! But that doesn’t always happen and that’s okay. Not every child wants to dive right in and make a mess no matter what tricks we try. It’s important to know that even if they don’t turn their cake into a gooey pile of crumbs, I am still able to catch fun images of them poking at it or carefully picking bits of icing or decorations. It’s also a good idea to bring along a favourite toy and some snacks in case your little one needs some encouragement. 
Come prepared for some fun mess. One thing parents don’t often realize is that they too will likely become covered in cake and icing during the session, so a change of clothes for everyone, not just the birthday boy or girl, is a good idea.

What to bring:

-          An outfit for your child to be photographed for the family photo.

-          Any favourite toys that are likely to grab their attention during the shoot

-          A drink for your little one (cake smashing is thirsty work!) and some snacks

-          Two towels

-          Special soap if your little one has sensitive skin or any other skin condition.

When dressing your children for the photoshoot please try to avoid busy patterns or logos in their clothing. I recommend choosing solid neutral colours wherever possible.

After Your Session

Images can take up to 4 weeks to go through post-editing. It can take up to 6 weeks during busy periods. I professionally retouch and artistically enhance each individual image presented to you.  Once your gallery is completed, I will send you a private online viewing gallery link for you to decide which images you would like and how you wish them to be presented.

Digital Images

Digital images are provided via a digital download only -no physical items- with full printing rights. Files are high resolution which allows you to print as big as you’d like. 

Prints & Extra digitals

You are purchasing a digital package, prints are not included in your cake smash photoshoot. However, you will be able to add a beautiful box of 10 prints in 6X9 for an additional £25.
